In addition to building a fully functional restaurant, the show needs to house a cast of 18 chefs for five continuous weeks. The living quarters includes four bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, entry, living room, and bathrooms custom built just for the cast. We design these to facilitate interaction between cast members and the spaces become important story generators as cast members work through their frustations, joys and fears in the their temporary home.  The setting provides a contrast to the intensity of the restaurant.
